About the Artist
|
Born in a small village in Switzerland, Monika Steiner found her artistic voice when she moved to California six years ago. To pursue her artistic passions, she embraced cultural differences, a career change, and personal challenges.
Her abstract paintings and bronze sculptures journal Monika's emotional response to passages and experiences in her life.
"I use my inner resonance to capture the essence of an ordinary object, a moment in time, or a memory."
Monika's creative process is defined with the careful balance of color, composition, texture, and mood. Using an abstract approach, she conveys inner experiences with intuition and emotion.
"Each line is a path of life diverging or coming back on itself. Areas of color and textural elements represent emotions and events, some on the surface, others below. The result is a complete whole as past experiences merge to form our present being."
